Projects
The activities of the Chair are clustered around five strategic priorities that, together, work to improve outcomes for Canadian children.
1. Supporting Interdisciplinary Research
The Chair is highly active in conducting and supporting research in the area of early child development and experienced-based brain development.
2. Mobilizing Research and Best Practices to Better Inform Programs and Policies
The Chair is involved in translating research and best practices and bringing researchers and expert clinicians and educators to speak to different audiences with the aim of enhancing policy and practice for child and youth development in Alberta.
3. Providing Professional Development and Training Opportunities
In addition to informational symposia hosted by the Chair, the Chair is involved in activities directly related to enhancement of knowledge and skills of those working in fields related to early child development.
4. Building on Promising New Initiatives and Taking Evidence-Based Practices to Scale
The Chair is dedicated to finding the best possible solutions for families in Alberta – whether through evaluation of existing programs to determine the most effective, or supporting innovative new programs.
5. Building Collaborative Networks to Enhance Capacity
The Chair collaborates with varied partners in all its activities. However, some specific projects are specifically focused on capacity building and collaboration.
